ASSOCIATE EDITOR,  ATLAS OBSCURA | AUGUST 2017–NOVEMBER 2018 | Co-edited Atlas Obscura’s food and drink vertical, Gastro Obscura, launched November 2017. Commissioned, assigned, and edited four feature stories weekly, and assisted with the food and drink database entries for a forthcoming Gastro book, to be published by Workman in 2020. Wrote weekly features about culinary practices and figures around the world. Wrote the biweekly Gastro newsletter, distributed to 190,000+ subscribers.

ASSOCIATE EDITOR, NPR MUSIC | APRIL 2017–AUGUST 2017 | Assisted in co-founding and conceptualizing Turning the Tables, the Gracie Award-winning project about building a musical canon of works by women and non-binary people. Worked with NPR editors to conceptualize the project, commission, and edit both entries and features from over 50 NPR staffers, station members, and freelancers. Contributed to the second season of Turning the Tables, released July 2018. 

CONTRIBUTING WRITER/EDITOR AND PRODUCER, RED BULL MUSIC ACADEMY | MARCH 2016–AUGUST 2017 | Commissioned and edited pieces for Red Bull Music Academy's immersive online culture publication, the Daily, tied to events in New York City, Montréal, and beyond. Produced special segments for Vivian Host’s weekly program, The Vortex, on Red Bull Radio. Hosted on air interviews with artists at the New York studio, and at the Basilica SoundScape festival in Hudson, NY. 

WEEKEND WRITER/CULTURE REPORTER, NEWSWEEK | JULY 2014–MARCH 2016 | Led monthly web traffic on a team of 15 writers. Juggled pitching, reporting, and writing daily web and longer print features. Wrote 3-5 breaking news stories daily on weekends while managing social media accounts and the homepage. Wrote 20+ features at the 2015 and 2016 Sundance Film Festivals.


BLOOMSBURY PRESS | Selected from 500 applicants to write a book in Bloomsbury Press's 33 1/3 series about The Jesus & Mary Chain's 1985 album Psychocandy, which was published October 2016.

THE NEW YORKER | Write features for The New Yorker's culture section online, including a story about Nick Cave’s newsletters and Ariana Grande’s hit "thank u, next.” Write Night Life show listings and previews for the print magazine.

NEW YORK MAGAZINE | Contribute features to the magazine, including a lead culture profile on bachata superstar Romeo Santos.

ROLLING STONE | Write features about cultural movements for Rolling Stone in print and on the web. 


GIRLS WRITE NOW | Mentor for GWN’s acclaimed mentorship program, which involves working with teenage girls living in the New York City area to help sharpen writing, editing, and digital media skills.
